This post might seem silly to some but anything that helps make life more convenient, streamlines a process and makes it more affordable is definitely a winner in my book! And I also just love the creativity of folks on the net and how they share with others!
I recently purchased a large 25 pound bag of flour at quite a substantial savings for baking and keep it in my pantry. Instead of lugging the entire container out every time and carrying it to the counter (heavy!) I made a handy dandy scoop out of a recycled plastic gallon jug to scoop and take to my workspace. (This one holds about 9 cups of liquid)
I can think of quite a few other places to use these~
In the sandbox for kids, as a scoop for dog food, for scooping sugar, for scooping flour, for scooping out salt to melt ice in the wintertime, bailing water (God forbid!) and the list could go on... (update
~ Lisa Lynn has mentioned in the comments that she could use this for chicken feed!)
Here's another scoop I found that is a different shape that holds less that would be suitable for other uses.

ReplyDeleteThat's exactly what we do with ours - we use it to scoop out salt for our driveway and sidewalk in the winter! Recycling at its best.

That's a great idea and I never thought of using it as an actual scoop, lol!
ReplyDeleteWe used to hold them by the handles and use it to catch and throw rolled up socks to one another. Sometimes we'd use bean bags instead of socks. Great way to play catch and the kids thought it was fun! :)
So what do you use for the optical brightners in your laundry detergent so that it doesn't get dingy? Do you use something like oxyclean?
Also, I didn't know that you were a fellow ministry wife! How fun to have that in common.
