My New "Cloche"

I love cloches and have been scouting for them as I shop.  Last Monday at the thrift store I ran into this~  2.50 marked down half price to 1.25.  So I brought it home and started trying how it fit on different things~

I already had the mini cake stand so here's how it looks~
This red salad plate was .35 cents...
...and the large yellow dinner plate was .35 cents also.
I know that it's not 'officially' a cloche.   It's probably the top a of a cheese dish where the bottom has gone missing but I love it anyways!

  1. Love finding a glass cloche (and the cheese dish tops are just great for low smalls and I've seen many with bird nests/eggs too.

  3. I love it too. I love re-purposed things. Great idea to use different colored plates underneath it.

  4. That was a real bargain find and I love how you've paired it up with different bottoms! I have a few tall cloches out for display - one on the front porch, others in the house. I think I'll start using my cheese board version this way - sits at the back of the cupboard unused much of the time.

    Happy weekend - Mary

  8. I never knew that was the name of them! I bought a glass cover similar to what you show from a home party. I love it, but would of loved it even more if it cost what yours did!

  14. Love it! Mine was a cheese dome too. You can also paint the wooden bases white (or whatever) and they look pretty. My niece also bought me a "real" one that is a bit bigger and I love it.

I am also into apothecary jars. Are you?

Thanks so much for linking up to "Making Your Home Sing Monday" today! :)

    1. I found a big cheese dome today at the thrift store and couldn't resist getting it. It has a glass bottom and I'd love to paint it if I can. If not, I'll use a different plate for the bottom.
