I've been looking for a set of Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls for years now with no success. My heart has been set on finding the same set as when I was a kid and they are ridonkulously expensive! This morning I took a trip to the thrift store and found these.
A close up of both~
A close up of Mrs Ann~
And Mr Andy~
These aren't the ones I had as a kid. They are hand made (with no hearts on their chest) but I love them anyhow and they make me smile! And here's where I'm keeping them in my sweetheart kitchen~not sure if this is a permanent home or not. ;)

What a sweet find! Looks very cute in your kitchen :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Farmgirl! I love them!
DeleteVery sweet blog! You asked me to comment here about where I use my Swagbucks? Yes, so far I have only used them for purchases on Amazon and it went well. I just about have enough for another $25 gift certificate but will save them and use for Christmas gifts.
ReplyDeleteI will really have to try that Georgene! I SO love your blog! I skimmed every one of your posts the other day when I found you. ;)
Delete*sigh* A piece of my childhood :) My aunt made me a Raggedy Ann doll. I still have her, though she's in pieces and needs to be repaired. Cute find!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see a pic Shandy!
DeleteP.S. I nominated you for the Liebster Award! You can check it out here: http://aprons-n-pearls.blogspot.com/2013/03/liebster-award.html

ReplyDeleteThank you Lavender Dreamer! Love your name!
DeleteSo glad to know someone else thinks all Raggety Anns and Andys should have hearts on their chests (mine does!).
ReplyDeleteI wish they had hearts but they don't! But I still love them! ;)
DeleteVery sweet finds!
ReplyDeleteThank you Diann!
DeleteI think it is amazing that you could just go to the thrift store and find what you were looking for - are they that common, or are you very lucky?
ReplyDeleteI've been wanting to make a set of Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls...for a long time! I loved reading the stories to my children; now I'd make the dolls for the grandchildren. Maybe several sets -- but that sounds like dreaming.
I've been looking for years now Gretchen. MANY long years! I'd love to see pics when you make them!!!
DeleteWhat little sweetie pies! What a treat for them to be able to go home with you. I love Raggedy Ann and Andy. As a child growing up I was one of six children. I yearned for Raggedy Ann but to no avail. My oldest son was a senior in high school he remembered and gave me a set for my birthday. I treasure them. Yours look so cute perched on either end of your swag.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing and have a Happy St. Patty's Day!
Carolynn
How sweet of your son to buy you that! That is so thoughtful!!!
DeleteThank you for becoming one of my new friends...I am now one of yours, too.
ReplyDeleteSmiles,
Carolynn xoxo
Aw~ thank you Carolynn!
DeleteSo cute. THE FIRST STUFFED TOY I bought my grandson was a Raggedy Andy...due to childhood memories. They are a priceless and timeless toy. As a baby he loved the bright colors and smiling face of Andy! :)
ReplyDeleteYou are right~ they are TIMELESS!
DeleteI love raggedy Ann and Andy and have a ton of stuff. Been collecting Raggedy Ann and Andy stuff over the years. Just purchased a glass plate and bowl but it's missing the cup. On E-Bay its selling for 145.00 but I am not selling. I have a raggedy watch, towels, sheets, books, pictures you name it. http://thewednesdaybaker.blogspot.com/2012/02/raggedy-ann-cookies.html
