Eggs in a Frame

This really wasn't meant to be solely a cooking blog~   I've got to change things up so I'm promising myself some non foody stuff coming up!

These are so easy and yummy and little and big kids love them.
They also go by different names, such as~
Eggs in a frame,
Eggs in a nest
Eggs in a hole
Eggs in a basket
Toad in a hole
Eggs in a Frame
Cookie Cut a whole in your bread and pull out the center. You can use a glass, cookie cutter or anything your heart desires! (I used a crystal light container cut down that I use for biscuit cutting since it's smaller)
Eggs in a Frame
Make sure your non-stick pan is *really* non stick. If it isn't go ahead and add some butter or oil to the pan just in case or it will get messy and won't turn out right. (ask me how I know!)  Make sure both sides of bread are buttered well and place bread in pan over medium heat and...
Eggs in a Frame
...crack egg in the middle.
Eggs in a Frame
You can break your yolk if you like and add salt, pepper~ whatever seasonings you like.
Eggs in a Frame
Cook eggs till desired doneness.  Some like them cooked hard and some soft.  When bread is nice and golden brown and eggs are cooked to your desired doneness- FLIP!
Eggs in a Frame
Fry the little rounds and add as presentation.
Eggs in a Frame
Voila!

  3. We call them Eggs in a Nest. I add a variation on this for my son. I start making a grilled cheese sandwich, cut the whole, and cook the grilled cheese with the egg in the middle.
